As many of you already know, we are beginning targeted book clubs here at Lakewood. These book clubs will take place on Wednesdays during the lunch/recess window from 10:30 to 11:30. There will be two varieties of book clubs to start: one for the upper level readers/AIG students, and one for students who are capable of reading on or near to on level but need additional support for continued literacy success. The AIG book clubs (fondly known by Katy & Kenny as “To Infinity and Beyond”) will be run by Sheldon, Ruth and Kenny. The “Boost ‘Em Up” book club will be run by Meg and Katy.
Wednesday, November 9 will be the initial meeting of these book clubs. Students will be released from class at 10:25 to get their lunches and then head straight for the learning commons. Meg Graham and Katy Vance will supervise this transition. During this initial meeting, students will be introduced to the idea of their respective book clubs and be offered their options.
Please release the following students at 10:25 to go to the cafeteria and get their lunch. Students who bring their own lunch may head immediately to the learning commons.
